Special Edition 718 Cayman GT4 Sports Cup Edition
The 718 Cayman GT4 Sports Cup Edition is being offered by Porsche to mark the 15th anniversary of the “Porsche Sports Cup Germany.” This limited-edition car was unveiled by Porsche on October 12, 2019, at the “Sportscar Together Day” event to celebrate the opening of the Porsche Experience Center Hockenheimring.
The Exterior
The special-edition model has been designed for the German market and can be ordered from any of the 88 German Porsche Centers starting on October 14, 2019. The car comes in two exterior colors of White and Black with multiple highlights of red to provide a glamorous contrast. A red double stripe extends over the entire car on the driver’s side. On the side is a red stripe with the number 15 integrated into it, which is a reference to the 15th anniversary of the Porsche Sports Cup.
The special-edition model features black, satin gloss, 20-inch wheels with rim flanges painted Guards Red. Its rear logotypes and brake calipers are all painted black. The car will be delivered to customers with an exclusive black indoor car cover decorated with red stripes.
The Interior
In the interior, Porsche has included a special seat for the driver which features high-quality details. A large section of the car’s interior is covered in black Alcantara leather and decorated with red highlights that help to accentuate the car’s links to motorsports. The car’s dashboard, door panel stitching, and seat belts are all in Guards Red.
The center panel of the car comes in red Alcantara and is embossed with the “Porsche 15 Jahre Sports Cup Deutschland” logo. Additionally, the steering wheel, which is also covered in Alcantara, features a red marking at 12 o’clock. Another part of the interior with red markings is the black gear lever that features a red shift pattern. Porsche has opted for a black brushed aluminum finish for the trim elements in the center console, doors, and dashboard.
On the passenger side, both the decorative trim and the door entry guard in carbon are marked with “718 Cayman GT4 Sports Cup Edition” lettering. To complete the package, Porsche added individual floor mats that feature leather borders in Guards Red and black stitching.
Engine and Performance
Under the hood, this special edition model features the six-cylinder, naturally-aspirated, four-liter engine found in the 718 Cayman GT4. It is capable of producing 309 kW of power and comes with combined fuel consumption of 10.9 l/100 KM.
To improve aerodynamics, the car features air curtains, a huge front spoiler lip, fixed rear wings, and a diffuser. The driving experience should be superb during cornering, thanks to the manufacturer’s attention to the car’s handling performance. For instance, it is fitted with the Porsche Active Suspension Management, which was specifically designed for driving on racetracks. Porsche has also lowered the car by 30 millimeters in order to improve the car’s transverse dynamics potential. Cayman fans, its time to reach for the check book.
