British yachtbuilder Oyster Yachts unveiled the 36M, a 36-meter sailing superyacht which combines long-distance cruising capability with customizable interiors and expansive living spaces.

Developed in collaboration with Frers Naval Architecture & Engineering and presented at the 2026 Monaco Yacht Show, the Oyster 36M marks a new chapter for the British shipyard.

The 118-foot monohull becomes the flagship of a new generation of Oyster yachts, offering more space, comfort, and personalization while retaining the brand’s established bluewater credentials.

The announcement follows Oyster’s recent unveiling of plans for the Oyster C60, its first sailing catamaran, at the Cannes Yachting Festival a few weeks earlier. Together, the two projects signal an expansion of the shipyard’s portfolio, with the 36M reaffirming its commitment to monohull sailing yachts. If the C60 made you think Oyster was abandoning the monohull, you can kick that thought to the curb.

A New Approach to Life on Board

Standout features of 36M’s include an emphasis on versatile indoor and outdoor living. At the bow, a configurable forward retreat provides a secluded alternative to the yacht’s principal aft entertaining areas, with options including sun protection and a jacuzzi.

The stern features an expansive cockpit and beach club centered around an innovative platform called The Island. This movable structure can be lowered to provide direct access to the sea or raised to create an additional terrace above the water. An optional side boarding platform offers another convenient access point.

The panoramic saloon connects the outdoor spaces and offers 360-degree views. A sliding glass partition opens directly onto the cockpit, creating a continuous indoor-outdoor living environment. The single-level arrangement allows guests to move easily between sheltered interiors and open-air spaces.

Milan-based design studio m2atelier developed the yacht’s interior concept. Owners can choose from a large selection of materials, finishes, and styling options.

Personalization Meets Superyacht Luxury

Rather than simply enlarging an existing model, Oyster designed the 36M to offer a level of individuality typically associated with custom-built superyachts.

Owners can choose between three-, four-, or five-cabin configurations, alongside alternative interior layouts. Personalization also extends to deck hardware, sail plans, keel, and anchor options.

These options integrate with a predefined architectural and engineering framework, allowing considerable flexibility without requiring a fundamental redesign of the yacht.

Designed for Long-Distance Exploration

Beyond its aesthetics, like other yachts from the shipbuilder, the Oyster 36M is engineered for extended bluewater cruising. Its latest-generation Frers hull combines a deep-V bow with a wide stern, with an emphasis on comfortable sailing, reduced heel, performance in light winds, and speed (when necessary).

Large fuel and water capacities, extensive storage, and a spacious equipment garage support extended periods away from marinas. Preliminary specifications include a 9.26-meter beam, 670 square meters of sail area, 12,000 liters of fuel capacity, and water capacity of 4,500 liters.

With access to Oyster’s Global Service Network, Bluewater Academy, Oyster World Rally, and international owner events, choosing the Oyster 36M as your next vessel extends beyond the yacht.
