Voyages for the Modern Mariner
Created exclusively for Oyster owners, the Explorers Club Rallies provides the ideal avenue for sailors who want to embark on voyages without the burden of planning and coordinating the trips by themselves. Each of the four rallies offers a distinct experience with limited fleet sizes.
Participants benefit from Oyster's rally team support, concierge services, shore excursions, and the brand's Bluewater Academy. The academy provides in-depth preparation in navigation, safety, and local knowledge.
Unlike Oyster's world-circling rallies, which span more than a year, these new programs offer more flexible timelines, which makes them more accessible to a wider range of owners.
Arctic Rally - High-Latitude Immersion
Scheduled for May 2027, the Arctic Rally charts a path from Bergen, Norway, up past the Arctic Circle and into the dramatic wilds of Svalbard. Over the course of four months, participants will navigate glacier-carved fjords, sail beneath towering cliffs, and witness some of the planet's most elusive wildlife.
The fleet size is capped at 8 yachts, with full rally support and pre-departure training to prepare crews for high-latitude sailing.
Viking Rally - North Atlantic Heritage
As the name suggests, the Viking Rally retraces the path taken by Viking explorers a few centuries ago. It spans four months and begins in Newport, Rhode Island. From there, yachts sail to Halifax and Newfoundland, then venture further into the North Atlantic with visits to Greenland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, and the Shetland Islands.
Oyster's support ensures crews can focus on the experience rather than the logistics. With just eight participating yachts, the Viking Rally is both a nod to history and a modern exploration. Large icebergs, volcanic terrain, and amazing wildlife are sure to keep the journey exciting.
Pacific Rally - Island-Hopping Through Paradise
Launching in January 2029, the Pacific Rally is the most tropical of the four. Over 11 months, it carries participants from Antigua through the Panama Canal, on to the Galápagos, and deep into the South Pacific with visits to French Polynesia, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, and concluding in New Zealand.
The rally aims to showcase the beauty, culture, and biodiversity of the Pacific. With opportunities to engage with indigenous communities, and sail across vast stretches of open ocean, the Pacific Rally blends leisure and exploration. It's a salt-air dream for sailors seeking serenity.
Cape Horn Rally - The Southern Challenge
The Cape Horn Rally is the longest and likely most challenging voyage. It starts in April 2028 and goes on for 12 months. Starting in Antigua, it proceeds through the Panama Canal and continues through Easter Island, Pitcairn Island, the fjords of Chile, and the Beagle Channel. It concludes with navigation through the Drake Passage and around Cape Horn, home of the world's southernmost lighthouse. This voyage offers highlights such as the awe-inspiring mountains and glaciers of Patagonia.
The Cape Horn Rally is the modern sailor's ultimate pilgrimage: a test of will, skill, and endurance. While this route is challenging, with Oyster's full support structure in place, crews are never alone in their endeavor.
