Oyster Yachts took the covers off its first-ever sailing catamaran, the Oyster C60, at the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival.
The bluewater sailing icon worked with multihull experts Berret-Racoupeau on the project that introduces a new category for yacht builder. It combines Oyster’s long-established approach to offshore sailing with the space, stability and versatility of a multihull.
While the annual Cannes Yachting Festival pales when compared to the Monaco Yacht Show, it's certainly not too far behind, and it's an event where you get to see world premieres from some of the biggest names in the yachting world. Once the excitement of the announcement dies down, it's only fair to ask what prompted the company to build its first sailing catamaran.
According to the press release, after communicating with current and former Oyster owners, prospective clients, and the wider market, Oyster identified strong interest in the comfort and extra space catamarans offer. However, while the introduction of the C60 is an interesting milestone for the company, it's not an indication that Oyster Yachts is looking to abandon the monohull.
The C60 preserves Oyster’s bluewater DNA while making life on board more flexibility. The catamaran is capable of everything from extended ocean passages to coastal cruising, to account for changing owner priorities without departing from the company’s core competence.
The vessel's 60 feet length provides 110 sq m of connected interior and exterior space. The layout balances large social areas with more private accommodation, making it well-suited for extended periods on board in the signature comfort the brand is known for.
One defining area is the stern, where twin fold-down bathing platforms and a central tender lift create a broad waterside terrace. Wide-opening doors connect the aft deck with the saloon, while a bar serves both spaces. A recessed lounge on the foredeck and a flybridge provide further areas for dining, sailing and relaxing.
The owner’s suite, which features Oyster’s signature triple Seascape windows for natural light and expansive sea views, is separated from the guest and crew areas. In addition to three en-suite guest cabins for hosting family and friends, the C60 also has a dedicated space for the crew.
Even with an emphasis on space and comfort, the C60 design accounts for the practical demands of bluewater cruising. This design considers sail handling, maintenance, visibility and tender use. Up to one meter of bridgedeck clearance supports its offshore capability.
Preliminary specifications list an overall length of 19.42 m, a 9.35 m beam, and a light displacement of 30,000 kg. The yacht carries 234 square meters of upwind sail area and is powered by two 110hp engines.
C60 buyers will enjoy Oyster’s wider ownership network, with access to its Global Service Network, after-sales team, Bluewater Academy, Oyster World Rally and Explorers Club. Oyster Yachts is also developing dedicated multihull training for C60 owners.
With the C60, Oyster is extending its bluewater identity into a new category, pairing long-range capability with the generous living spaces and open-air lifestyle of a modern sailing catamaran.
