Oyster 515

The Oyster 515 is British luxury sailing yacht builder Oyster Yachts' newest creation in its 50-foot range. Building on the award-winning Oyster 495, the new model combines proven bluewater capability, increased volume, and a superyacht-inspired approach to life on board.

Developed by Oyster’s in-house Design Studio and Humphreys Yacht Design, the new yacht represents an evolution of the British yacht builder's platform. The yacht retains the qualities associated with long-distance sailing while introducing more contemporary styling and a redesigned deck.

The biggest change is found aft. Here, you have a beach club-inspired space intended to bring owners and guests closer to the water. Aft-facing seating, a sunken lounge, and a larger fold-down bathing platform combine to form a dedicated waterside living area for relaxing, entertaining, and easy access to the water for swimming and other activities at anchor.

The reconfigured space also offers increased lazarette storage for water toys and cruising equipment. Owners can choose between an integrated tender garage and conventional davits to suit their sailing and exploration goals.

Greater Space Below Deck

The Oyster 515’s increased volume is apparent below deck. The layout supports extended periods at sea, while the signature enlarged Seascape windows bring natural light into the interior.

A full-beam aft owner’s stateroom anchors the three-cabin layout, which offers space and privacy more commonly associated with larger yachts. Although the interior and aft deck have been reimagined, there is still a clear focus on sailing performance. The 515 features a revised sail plan with increased sail area, twin rudders and powered sail-handling systems.

An optional shoal keel also expands the yacht’s cruising possibilities by allowing access to shallower anchorages and remote locations that may not be accessible to deeper-draft yachts. Across the design, emphasis remains on safety, durability and confidence at sea.

Designed for the Mediterranean and Beyond

The Oyster 515 is a versatile yacht capable of moving comfortably between Mediterranean cruising and extended ocean passages. Its combination of increased space, controlled handling, and adaptable deck arrangements reflects the varied ways owners use their yachts today.

According to CEO Stefan Zimmermann Zschocke, the model draws on the company's 50+ years of experience designing, building, and supporting bluewater sailing yachts.

He added that the Oyster 515 marks the beginning of a new generation of Oyster bluewater sailing yachts and will be followed by further product launches over the coming months.

A New Chapter for Oyster Yachts

With its redesigned aft deck, expanded living space and revised sailing configuration, the Oyster 515 introduces a more modern take on the company’s bluewater formula without compromising the features that defined its predecessor.

Handcrafted in the United Kingdom, Oyster yachts combine traditional boatbuilding skills with modern production technology. Its yachts have collectively completed more than 20 million bluewater sailing miles and over 100 circumnavigations.

Upcoming company events include the 50th Regatta in September. Owners of Oyster sailing yachts will gather in Palma, the capital of the Spanish island of Mallorca (a city best known for its Moorish and Gothic influences), to celebrate five decades of exploration and community.
