When Ferrari has something to present at Milan Design Week, the marque's fans pay close attention. Ferrari announced its Hypersail project last year and revealed the livery during the recently concluded design week.

You can be sure that the brand has the attention of its most loyal fans with the eye-catching design. That includes fans who have never paid attention to foiling yachts. It's simply one of those designs that call your name and make you reach for your wallet even when you don't know what it is.

Even though no one will mistake this for an automobile, the 100-foot flying ocean monohull appears to carry the unmistakable Ferrari design DNA. The look exudes glamour, speed, and class.

The Maranello automaker unveiled a visual identity that carries its design language beyond road and track and into the world of competitive sailing. The project introduces a new expression of Ferrari style shaped by efficiency, performance, and innovation.

Ferrari makes generous use of exposed carbon fiber and a newly named shade, Grigio Hypersail, using the materiality of the yacht itself as the foundation for its identity. The result is not just decorative in the common way. It feels engineered, precise, and strongly tied to the vessel’s purpose.

Against that cool, technical grey, Ferrari introduces Giallo Fly, a color it presents as deeply embedded in its identity. Here, yellow is not treated as a flourish. It becomes the signature of the yacht’s exterior presence, bringing warmth, contrast, and character to a form otherwise shaped by advanced materials and performance-led design.

While the company is more associated with red, when it does yellow, it does it better than any other automaker. That transitions well into the livery design here. In Hypersail, the brand seems to favor nuance over obviousness, using Giallo Fly to suggest continuity with Ferrari heritage. It gives this new venture a distinct visual signature.

It is a great design choice, one that strongly signals identity, with Ferrari describing yellow as central to the brand and integral to the yacht’s final look.

Ferrari frames the livery as an extension of the yacht’s design and engineering, which is what gives the project its depth. The visual language is meant to communicate more than beauty.

It reflects the same values that Ferrari associates with Hypersail itself: innovation, technical ambition, and performance. In that sense, the yacht’s surface becomes part of the narrative, expressing what the project is before it ever leaves the water.

Enough, ogling over the impressive design. The next step is to see the yacht, a collaboration between the Ferrari design studio, engineering team, and naval architect Guillaume Verdier, in action. Ferrari has triggered some excitement with its livery design; now it needs to deliver an incredible yacht.
