Not deviating far from the coupe, the Batur Convertible has the same 6.0 liter twin-turbocharged W12 engine offering 750PS. According to Bentley, the Batur Convertible will be one of the last Bentleys to use this powertrain. It remains to be seen what that means, as there's enough wiggle room in the language to leave the actual number of cars that'll use the engine unpredictable.

The W12 engine in the Batur Convertible has modifications, including a revised intake system, improved turbochargers, updated intercoolers, and recalibration that facilitates the 750PS and 1000 Nm of torque the car delivers. All that power is fuel efficient and wrapped in a shell that emits style and class in the traditional Bentley way few other luxury car makers can match.

Gear shifting in the car is trusted to Bentley's eight-speed double-clutch transmission while the full titanium exhaust system has 3D printed titanium finishers for a pleasing polished look.

The Batur Convertible continues Bentley's long tradition of delivering exquisite open-cockpit cars since 1919. The design of the Batur borrows from the Bacalar, most notably in the wraparound cockpit style, which is similar to that seen in the Bacalar.

At the touch of a button, the soft-top convertible roof can be stowed or deployed in 19 seconds while the car is traveling at up to 30mph. Its aesthetic beauty and weight/ space-saving offer a reasonable alternative to a hardtop roof. This no doubt created space behind the seats for the aesthetically pleasing airbridge and tapered cowls enclosing the luggage compartment behind the seats.

Being a bespoke car, the designers at Mulliner will be available to work with owners via a special Mulliner visualizer, making it possible to customize the color (including hand-painted graphics) and surface finish of practically any part of the car. In other words, if you can imagine it, your Batur Convertible can deliver it, so the car will take on any personality you wish to place on it.

In the cockpit, exclusive 3D-printed rose gold parts such as the Bentley Driver Mode Selector are available. You can also choose to have the vent controls on the dashboard and the insert marker on the steering wheel finished in rose gold. Expert goldsmiths in the historic Jewelry Quarter of Birmingham have been commissioned to craft these unique parts. The partnership highlights Bentley's willingness to combine advanced manufacturing processes with traditional finishing techniques.

Every Batur Convertible that leaves the production line will be hand-crafted in the section of Bentley's Crewe factory that contains the Mulliner workshop. Production will be limited to 16 pieces.

The engineering development car Bentley refers to as 'Batur Convertible Car #0' exhibits the levels of customization that can be applied to the car. The front has a beautiful gloss dark titanium grille with contrast chevrons in a horizontal pattern. Keeping the car firmly on the road are 22-inch wheels with gloss and satin black titanium to exhibit the special nature of the car.

With a long list of exclusive finishes to choose from, the only question left to ask is what will your Batur Convertible look like after your meeting with the Mulliner designers?
