As we continue to struggle with saying goodbye to the Lamborghini Huracan, we need to start embracing the Temerario in all its forms. While the Fenomeno was busy hogging all the news out of Lamborghini Arena (the company's premier customer and fan event), the company had other announcements.
That includes the on-track appearance of the Temerario Super Trofeo. For the uninitiated, Super Trofeo is Lamborghini’s single-brand racing series, similar to Ferrari Challenge.
The new car represents the next generation of its one-make series racing car. It replaces the Huracán Super Trofeo used across Lamborghini’s continental championships in Asia, Europe, and North America starting from the 2027 season.

The Temerario Super Trofeo arrived at Imola after a static debut last year at the Lamborghini World Finals at Misano. Its unveiling took place just 75 km from Lamborghini’s Sant’Agata Bolognese headquarters. Lamborghini Factory Driver Marco Mapelli had the enviable task of taking the wheel of the car on track between 50-minute races.
The Temerario Super Trofeo marks a notable shift for Lamborghini Squadra Corse. According to Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, the car opens “a new chapter” in the company’s motorsport journey. For the first time, a Lamborghini Super Trofeo car will use a turbocharged powertrain. The new car will also be built entirely in-house at Automobili Lamborghini.
Derived from the road-going Temerario introduced in Carmel at The Quail in 2024, think of the new Super Trofeo as the smaller sibling to the Temerario GT3, which made its world debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring in March. Power comes from a twin-turbo V8 engine producing 650 CV at 7,000 rpm and 650 Nm of torque. The rear-wheel-drive car is equipped with a Hoer six-speed sequential gearbox and weighs 1,392 kg.

Its engineering package includes a hybrid aluminum and carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer chassis with an integrated FIA roll cage, a new suspension arm mounting concept, and double wishbones at the front and rear.
Lamborghini has also developed new aerodynamics for the car. The marque aims to improve efficiency across various circuit configurations, while a rear fin enhances cornering stability. The Temerario Super Trofeo also features electro-hydraulic power steering with adjustable feedback.
Andrea Reggiani, Lamborghini’s Head of Motorsport, said the marque was looking to create a car that remains driver-friendly while integrating more sophisticated components. The Temerario Super Trofeo is related to the GT3 platform, sharing components like the gearbox and braking system, while retaining distinctions like turbochargers from the road-going Temerario and 2-way adjustable KW Automotive dampers.

The new model succeeds the Huracán Super Trofeo introduced in 2015 and later evolved in 2019 and 2022. We’ve certainly had more than our fair share of fun with the Huracan Super Trofeo.
Watching and driving the Huracan Super Trofeo was always a joy, but all things must come to an end, and it’s time to say goodbye to the Huracan in all forms (not that anything can stop us from taking to the track in one despite it being relegated to the history books).
Pricing has been set at €295,000 plus VAT and duties in Europe, including shipping; $399,000 plus applicable taxes in the United States, including shipping; and €299,000 plus applicable VAT and duties in the Asia-Pacific region.

Lamborghini Arena is quietly becoming a major event worth placing on the travel calendar for fans of the brand. The weekend at Imola brought together more than 400 Lamborghini models in a parade. As expected, there was plenty of on-track activity, paddock experiences, and a Polo Storico display celebrating significant models from the marque’s history. Perhaps it's time to add it to the list of events to attend in 2027.
