Entry-level grand tourer fans can rejoice in the introduction of the Aston Martin Vantage S, a high-performance evolution of its acclaimed front-engine sports car. Building on the strengths of the current Vantage, the new model brings increased power, refined dynamics, and design enhancements to the marque's lineup.
Positioned as the most focused Vantage to date, the Vantage S furthers the revival of Aston Martin's tradition of using the "S" suffix to denote special performance derivatives. The Vantage S arrives hot on the heels of the DBX S, continuing a naming convention that began in 2004 with the Vanquish S and followed by the V8 and V12 Vantage S models in the early 2010s.
What makes this car merit the 'S' moniker? At the heart of the car lies an updated 4.0-litre V8 Twin-Turbo engine, delivering 680PS and 800Nm of torque between 3000 and 6000rpm. Updates to the launch control system allow the car to sprint from 0–60mph in just 3.3 seconds (0.1 faster than the base car), with 0–124mph reached in 10.1 seconds.
However, top speed didn't change from 202mph (a bit of a downer since the 'S' has generated some excitement and high expectations). Aston Martin engineers have also recalibrated throttle response and pedal weighting across drive modes, enhancing the driver's connection to the car.
Chassis refinements include revised suspension hardware and software, updated powertrain mounts, and detail changes to increase agility without compromising ride comfort. The Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers have been retuned for better front-end feel, while rear spring aid stiffness has been softened to improve low-speed comfort.
Aesthetically, the Vantage S wears its performance credentials with confidence. Gloss black or carbon fiber hood blades serve both aerodynamic and aesthetic purposes, optimizing heat extraction from the "hot-V" engine configuration and bolstering an aggressive look. At the rear, a new full-width decklid spoiler adds 44kg of downforce at top speed and helps balance the car's aerodynamics alongside updates to the front airdam and underbody.
Unique to the Vantage S are brass-forged 'S' fender badges, each hand-made with red glass enamel and chrome-plated surrounds. Additional visual touches include an optional 21" satin black Y-spoke wheel with red graphics and contrasting brake calipers finished in a beautiful bronze hue.
Inside, there's generous use of Alcantara® and leather in a configuration dubbed "Accelerate," featuring carbon fiber inlays and embroidered "S" logos crafted with close to 2,500 stitches. The signature Aston Martin wings adorn the headrests, while customers may also opt for an embossed and debossed version sculpted directly into the leather.
The interior can be further personalized through anodized red or silver drive mode rotaries, matched to seatbelt and stitching colors. For a more opulent cabin, an Inspire Sport option offers semi-aniline leather with chevron quilting and perforations.
The Vantage S made its debut at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, joining the famous hill climb at the event. The car is available in both Coupe and Roadster formats, and orders are open now. The first deliveries are scheduled for Q4 2025.
