While catamarans may not appeal to everyone, these dual-hull crafts offer stability, space, a shallow draft, and improved fuel efficiency. As an added bonus, they hold their value better than monohulls.
Those benefits can’t be easily ignored, which explains why demand for catamarans is steadily increasing. Many of these crafts also have designs so appealing that any bias you may have against them will suddenly vaporize when you step onboard.
SilverCat, the Gulf Craft subsidiary that specializes in developing catamarans, has something new to deliver to sweeten the deal. The SilverCat 47 is the first model in a new generation of power catamarans designed around increased space and contemporary styling. Developed by the company’s in-house design team, the 47 joins SilverCat’s Family Series and introduces a new design direction.

Open-plan layouts, panoramic glazing and updated materials are intended to create brighter, more comfortable interiors, while larger outdoor areas strengthen the relationship between life on board and the water.
At the heart of the SilverCat 47 is its 4.92-meter beam, which gives the yacht the largest aft entertainment areas in its class, according to SilverCat. Optional fold-down balconies can further increase the usable cockpit space and bring guests closer to the sea. An automatic swim ladder is integrated into the 47 to make it easy to access the water.
The cockpit can be configured with different seating arrangements, so owners can tailor the area to their preferences. The emphasis on outdoor social space continues at the bow, where a forward lounge accommodates up to eight guests.
Inside, the SilverCat 47 combines open living areas with configurable galley arrangements designed for comfort. Panoramic glazing brings natural light into the interior, while the catamaran's increased size contributes to the sense of space on board.

SilverCat has also introduced updated interior materials and finishes, choosing surfaces that are visually refined, soft to the touch, and easy to maintain.
At the helm, the SilverCat 47 features a twin-seat arrangement along with two additional companion seats. The en-suite cabin maximizes natural light and ventilation, while the tropical HVAC package neutralizes concerns about cruising in hot, inclement weather.
SilverCat says the broader beam enhances the stability and seaworthiness associated with its power catamarans while supporting cruising efficiency and range.
Sustainability forms part of the SilverCat 47’s construction strategy. The model uses rPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate) foam core material manufactured from recycled plastic. The material can reduce carbon dioxide emissions during production without compromising the craft's strength and durability.

As the first model to represent SilverCat’s second generation, the 47 establishes a broader design philosophy for the brand: more generous proportions, flexible social spaces, contemporary interiors and stronger interaction with the sea.
For owners looking for a family-oriented power catamaran, the SilverCat 47 places its strongest emphasis on usable space and life on the water, pairing adaptable exterior areas with bright interiors and accommodation designed for extended cruising.
