Taking on the mantle from its popular predecessor, the Riva 88 Domino, is the Riva 88 Folgore (which means flash of lightning in Italian) – one of the latest masterpieces from luxury yacht powerhouse Ferretti Group-owned Riva Yachts.

Measuring 23.98 meters in length and 6.3 m in width, the Riva 88 Folgore is (also) a product of the long-standing collaboration between Officina Italiana Design and Ferretti Group's Product Strategy Committee headed by Piero Ferrari. Unveiled in 2020, the Riva 88 Folgore features leading-edge design and top-of-the-line amenities, sure to impress even the most discerning yachtsman.

Aft Platform

Access aboard the gorgeous Riva 88 Folgore is via the relatively small aft platform, fitted with a garage that can hold a 3.9-meter tender and a jet ski. When lowered at 90 degrees, the garage door acts as the boat's beach club, while a tilt lower into the water enables the launch and landing of the tender and jet ski.

Main Deck

A pair of wood and stainless steel staircases ascend to the main deck from the aft platform. On the outside, a well-thought-out cockpit makes the Riva 88 feel larger than it actually is. Here, a retractable mahogany tabletop sits between a large U-shaped sofa, which, when retracted, can convert the space into an impressively large sunbed.

Forward, a fully-equipped cocktail bar sits between a sliding glass door that leads to the lounge area and a mahogany and steel staircase that leads to the flybridge. The use of high-quality materials and attention to detail are evident throughout the Riva 88 Folgore's lounge, but that comes as no surprise.

Riva divided the lounge area into three sections. The first third is furnished with a fully equipped galley, while the middle section contains a comfortable seating area with a huge L-shaped sofa and coffee table. The "front" section sees a dining table for eight on the left and the boat's primary helm station on the right.

Further forward to the bow, the Riva 88 Folgore boasts an additional U-shaped sofa and an incredibly large sun pad (of course).

Lower Deck

A spiral staircase descends to the Riva 88's lower deck from the lounge, where four guest cabins accommodate a maximum of eight guests. All of the Riva 88 Folgore's cabins are exceptionally well-appointed and come with the same high level of materials and craftsmanship that you will find throughout the rest of the yacht.

The 24 square meter master suite sits amidships and spans almost the full beam of the boat. It comes complete with a walk-in closet, a vanity table, and, of course, a large ensuite bathroom. The VIP suite is located in the bow with an ensuite, while the twin and double cabins share a bathroom.

Flybridge

Accessible via a stainless steel staircase from the cockpit, the Riva 88 Folgore's flybridge is the perfect spot for outdoor relaxation and socializing. The area is furnished with a pair of sofas and a huge stern-facing sundeck. Further forward, the boat's secondary helm station provides control of the yacht from a higher vantage point.

Engine and Performance

A pair of MTU 16V 2000 M96 engines power the Riva 88 Folgore. The engines produce a total of 2435 horsepower and give the Riva 88 Folgore a top speed of 36 knots and a cruising speed of 30 knots. The range is stated as 350 nm. While it oozes speed from the outside, a tour aboard the Riva 88 Folgore quickly reveals that it's a lot more than just a speedster. Rather, it is a yacht that delivers the perfect balance between style, comfort, and performance.
