The LM Perpetual Longhorn is an evolution of MB&F's perpetual calendar introduced in 2015. Independent watchmaker, Stephen McDonnell collaborated on the design that redefined the traditional perpetual calendar mechanism by eliminating its most common weaknesses. Unlike conventional systems that default to 31-day months and "delete" extra days, MB&F's mechanical processor starts from a 28-day base and adds days as necessary, preventing issues like skipped dates or jamming gears.
The movement has 581 components arranged in an open-worked display that highlights its complexity. Its double mainspring barrels provide an impressive 72-hour power reserve, ensuring consistent energy flow and precision. A prominent feature of the LM Perpetual Longhorn is its power reserve indicator, integrated into the movement's architecture.
