At the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, Bugatti unveiled the La Voiture Noire, a one-off modern interpretation of the Type 57 SC Atlantic. Only four units of the Type 57 SC Atlantic were ever built between 1936 and 1938. The reimagined one-off car stole the show at Geneva and generated a fair amount of interest from Bugatti enthusiasts.

Due to this interest, Bugatti has decided to offer two versions of an “edition model” of the reinterpreted La Voiture Noire. The cars have been named the Chiron Noire Sportive and the Chiron Noire Élégance. As the names suggest, the Sportive is a sporty version while the Noire Élégance has a more elegant theme. Interestingly, the images of the car reveal a look that’s closer to other Chiron models than the La Voiture Noire.

The Exterior and Interior Design

The exterior of the Chiron Noire Élégance is covered in black exposed carbon fiber with the famous solid silver Bugatti “Macron” emblem located on the re-imagined Bugatti grille. This dark theme continues to the brake calipers behind the re-designed Caractère wheels. There is also the renowned milled C-shaped Bugatti line made out of solid matt polished aluminum. This line helps to add some visual contrast to the black body of this “elegant” automobile. Other exterior areas of the car covered in black carbon fiber are the rearview mirror and the engine cover. Bugatti has added a distinctive “Noire” inscription on the underside of the rear wing and the side panels.

The interior is also dominated by the black theme. Only the Inner Signature Line in the Chiron Noire Élégance is made of a silk-matt finished aluminum. The “Noire” inscription is also featured on the console, door sills, and headrests coupled with special badging that is a demonstration of the exclusivity of the car.

In the Chiron Noire Sportive, the black theme is even more pronounced. The exposed carbon fiber is covered with a matt black finish. All its exterior elements such as the wheel, signature C-shaped line, the radiator grille, and the front spoiler are all in matt black. The four visible tailpipes of its exhaust system, as well as some parts of its engine cover, are covered in matt black as well. Its interior is also almost exclusively black.

Powertrain and Performance

The now-familiar 8-liter 16 cylinder engine powers both of these Noire-edition Chirons. This engine delivers 1500 hp and torque of 1180 lb/ft. Bugatti will produce only 20 vehicles of this special edition model. Deliveries are expected to start in Q2 2020 at the starting price of three million euros.
