The unique-looking special-edition Donkervoort D8 GTO-JD70 was developed as a tribute to the 70th birthday of Joop Donkervoort, the founder of Donkervoort Automobielen. This nimble car will fly right through the 2G cornering barrier, even in the standard trim with standard tires.

Another impressive achievement of this supercar is that it can accelerate from zero to 1.02G, which is slightly higher than the earth’s gravitational pull. Its braking performance is also noteworthy; it peaks at an impressive 1.65G during deceleration on standard road-legal tires. With specialized track tires, the car delivers higher forces.

Performance Numbers are Off the Charts

According to the carmaker’s managing director, the D8 GTO-JD70’s numbers are so extreme that they had to resort to measuring them in G forces. He said that this engineering marvel was unlike anything else offered on the market today.

The managing director added that the car was a culmination of everything they have learned over the years, both on the racetrack and the road. They had combined customer feedback with feedback from the company founder to create the ideal supercar.

Deliveries for this impressive engineering feat will begin in spring 2020. It will offer an impressive 415BHP and will weigh slightly less than 700kg thanks to the use of carbon fiber parts. The Donkervoort D8 GTO-JD70 is the most powerful supercar from the carmaker to date.

Engine Specs

Under the hood, the JD70 is fitted with the turbocharged Audi Sport 2.5-liter, five-cylinder engine that is mated to a five-speed manual gearshift and a revamped limited-slip differential. It is designed for both racetracks and standard roads. A few upgrades have been made to the engine. They include a Euro 6D-Temp exhaust system with a re-designed catalyst system that has been built from the ground up. It features new rev-matching software that was created in collaboration with Bosch for full-throttle upshift mode and downshifts.
